The ADM 8 Database Project provides amazing insight into the Royal Navy's deployments after 1673.
The project, part of GlobalMaritimeHistory, involves the transcription of (usually) monthly reports into a database so that researchers can look more quickly at the information across of the breadth of the volumes as well as read individual documents.
In this presentation, Sam will provide a brief overview of the project and database. He will then discuss what ADM8 can tell us about the size and variety of Royal Navy professional networks after 1673 – and detail the limits of that data.
