Access to palliative and end-of-life care for people with neurodegenerative conditions

A webinar focusing on access to palliative and end-of-life care for people with neurodegenerative conditions will be held on 29 October 2025 (Wednesday) (11am-12pm).
Organised by the NIHR ARC Palliative and End of Life Care National Leadership Forum in collaboration with the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Dementia and Neurodegeneration (Exeter) and the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Palliative and End of Life Care, the webinar is part of a national series highlighting expert insights in the field.

Speakers include:
- Professor Jan Oyebode (University of Bradford)
Will introduce the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Dementia and Neurodegeneration, outlining its policy and practice reach, as well as a recent project exploring the Parkinson’s disease research landscape
- Professor Karen Windle (University of Ulster)
Will present a recent project on Parkinson’s disease and findings from stakeholder consultations, including those with lived experience, around the changes needed to better support end-of-life care for people with Parkinson’s disease
- Professor Catherine Evans (King’s College London)
Will introduce the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Palliative and End of Life Care, and the EMPOWER Dementia Network+ and its relevance to policymaking
- Dr Andy Bradshaw (King’s College London)
Will share the methods of co-creating the EMPOWER Dementia Network+ and developing approaches for inclusive coproduction to reach underserved groups in dementia research
The webinar will conclude with a live Q&A, offering attendees the chance to engage directly with the speakers.
