Theme: 'Leadership and the pathway(s) to peace in Africa: What peace, whose peace, and at what price?'
This conference brings together academics, students and practitioners to discuss the issue of peace and security in Africa.
There will be 5 panels over the course of the conference, as well as a keynote talk from Dr Kayode Fayemi, former Governor of the Ekiti State-Nigeria and former Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Nigeria. With his reflections on the leadership-peace nexus in Africa.
The conference will encompass a wide array of fascinating discussions including if there is an ‘African Peace’ or African Vision of Peace? The latest patterns in Africa’s democratisation and governance, and looking towards the future. With reflection upon current issues in Africa, the kind of leadership required to transform peace and security in the continent, and placing these discussions of change and Africa within the wider global context.
