This three-day course aims to provide students with an understanding of the purpose and appropriate use of qualitative research methods and to equip them with the basic skills to design and conduct qualitative research in the mental health field. Different theoretical approaches to data collection and analysis will be explained and explored, including the Grounded Theory approach and Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. Methods to be described will include in depth interviews, focus group discussions, and participant observation.

It was a very rewarding experience. I got all the essential information about qualitative research methods. I enjoyed the workshop and group discussions. I learned a lot from group members.
