Open to Arabic students at varying levels and Arabic teachers

The workshop is aimed at the students of Arabic language and language teachers who may teach a foreign language to Arabic native speakers.

Studies in Arabic linguistics, namely phonetics and phonology as well as second language acquisition will be presented. That includes the acquisition of segmental and suprasegmental aspects of Arabic, in addition to challenge of diglossia. Identifying learning difficulties and suggestions of solutions will be discussed.  Pronunciation workshops are tremendously beneficial, especially when using communicative approach in teaching and learning a foreign language.
