This online event marks the launch of the edited volume ‘Transnational Environmental Law in the Anthropocene: Reflections on the Role of Law in Times of Planetary Change’. The event will be convened by its editors, Emily Webster and Laura Mai.
Taking the concept of the Anthropocene as a starting point, the contributions to this book address emerging legal issues from a transnational law perspective. The book thus provides a timely intervention into the theoretical and practical approaches of transnational environmental law in a time of significant uncertainty and environmental and human crises.
The book launch will convene three authors who present their contributions to the edited volume:
- Prof Louis Kotzé - Research Professor at North-West University, South Africa, and Senior Professorial Fellow in Earth System Law at the University of Lincoln, United Kingdom.
- Pierre Cloutier de Repentigny - doctoral candidate at the Centre for Environmental Law and Global Sustainability and Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa.
- Dr Melanie Murcott - senior lecturer in the Department of Public Law, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria
