The King's College London Department of Chemistry proudly presents the Burton Lecture 2019.
Professor Harold Burton was the first Head of the Department of Chemistry from 1947 until his death in 1966. The Harold Burton fund was established to be applied for the promotion of Chemistry in the College, which included an annual lecture. The Burton Lectures began in the 1970’s and many distinguished academics have participated over the years. In conjunction with the Department’s recent rejuvenation, the Burton Lectures were reintroduced in 2016.
This year's speaker is Professor Andrew Orr-Ewing, University of Bristol.
Title: ‘Ultrafast Infrared Spectroscopy as a Probe of Chemical Reaction Mechanisms’
The lecture takes place 16.00 – 17.00 and will be followed by a drinks reception, from 17.00.
