Change our City Challenge 2026

Strand Building, Strand Campus, London

24OctGroups of students collaborating on finding solutions to London's most pressing problems
Groups of students in the Entrepreneurship Institute office collaborating on finding solutions to London's most pressing problems

Work in diverse teams to tackle some of London's biggest problems and be the change you want to see! Innovate and solve real-world problems whilst meeting and working with students across King's.

Choose from one of five challenges, based on your area of interest:

1. Community - Londoners are most likely to be affected by severe loneliness than others in the UK, with 700,000 feeling lonely 'most' or 'all of the time.' How can we promote community cohesion across the city?

2. Hunger - Nearly a quarter of a million children in London are living in food insecurity. With food prices continuing to rise, how can we support those living in food poverty?

3. Homelessness - The number of people who are sleeping rough in London as of June 2025 is 13,231, a 10% increase on the previous year. How can we support those experiencing homelessness in London?

4. Environment - London is on its way to becoming a world-leading sustainable city but is still confronted by a host of serious environmental challenges. How can we continue to tackle key environmental issues such as food waste, air pollution and flooding?

5. Health - Our ageing population and changing lifestyles in London mean that more people are living with one or more long-term conditions. In what ways can we meet everyone's healthcare needs?

This one-day event is open exclusively to current King's students (undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD) and will take place in-person at the Great Hall on the Strand Campus.

It's a great opportunity to learn from industry experts, practice your team working skills and use AI tools to really understand a problem and create an innovative solution.
