Title

Co-producing research methodology for mental health conditions in Somaliland

Abstract: Copilots is an NIHR-funded health systems strengthening grant with the goal of understanding priorities for improvement of the mental health system and intervening to meet these priorities. Much of the initial work is based on ethnographic fieldwork, but partners in the region have low levels of understanding and experience of ethnographic methodologies. In this talk, Copilots team members will reflect on the process of developing methodology together, understanding what is appropriate for Somaliland and seeking to foster leadership among relatively junior researchers.
