Colin Gunton Memorial Lecture 2024

The 2024 Colin Gunton Memorial Lecture will be given by Professor Keri Day, Professor of Constructive Theology and African American Religion at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, NJ.

Her most recent book is Azusa Reimagined: A Radical Vision of Religious and Democratic Belonging (Stanford, CA: Stanford University Press, 2022). A preacher in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC), Professor Day combines research in womanist/feminist theology, Afro-Pentecostalism, cultural studies and economics with political commentary and an advisory role in US public policy.

Professor Day will lecture on: "Rerouting Theology: Spirit as First Word"

The lecture will be preceded by a reception for a limited number of attendees at 5pm in the Council Room (K2.29), Strand Campus.

Student presentations will take place between 2pm and 4.30pm in the River Room, Strand Campus, and are open to those with a (present or past) King’s affiliation.

Please register in advance. If tickets for the Lecture + Reception option are fully booked, please try booking Lecture Only as there is greater capacity at the lecture venue. We will operate on a first-come-first-served basis.
