Multi-award-winning scientific futurist Dr Catherine Ball presents insights into how technology and science are providing answers to many of the challenges the world is facing today—food shortages, war and conflict, the decline in local manufacturing, health and ageing, and global warming—and asks why we are not embracing these technologies more widely.
In this talk, Dr Catherine gives insights into her latest book, Converge, to discuss the role we all have in learning more about cross-disciplinary technological advancements, owning transdisciplinary conversations, and determining what we want technology to be.

Speaker bio:
Dr Catherine Ball is a futurist with a focus on environmental science and technology. She is an associate professor at The Australian National University and has founded and led ventures where emerging technologies meet humanitarian, education and environmental needs. She is passionate about demystifying emerging technology and empowering people to make a change. She is the author of “Converge” a futurist’s insights into the potential of our world as technology and humanity collide.
