The current lockdown restrictions have meant the usual social gatherings of the Annual Dental Alumni Weekend will not now be able to take place.

Instead we are bringing you an online event between 10am and noon on the Saturday morning 6^th March 2021. The Executive Dean, Prof Mike Curtis, Clinical Directors Dr Joanna Johnson and Dr Rob Hale and Dean for Education, Prof Kim Piper will give Alumni the opportunity to see how the School has managed to adapt to the events of the past year on the progress of the Dental Institute and dental education.

Exciting new Covid-related research relevant to dental practice from the Faculty will be presented and Mr Eric Whaites will bring us up to date on developments with the Tower extension project. For those who have not visited the dental campuses recently, there will be the opportunity to see how the modern dental student handles the innovative haptic technology. Prof Jenny Gallagher will provide a vision into the future challenges of modern dentistry.

While it won’t be possible to share time together in person this year, the hope is that we can, at least, remain in touch through a range of excellent fascinating presentations.

 

Registered participants will receive the password to access the site where you will find the pre-recorded videos, presentations and the MS Teams joining link for the live event.
