The Centre for Implementation Science (CIS) at King’s College London invites you to a lunchtime seminar:

In this talk Dr Skolarus will examine qualitative findings and a conceptual model for de-implementing low-value prostate cancer castration practices based on the Theoretical Domains Framework and Behaviour Change Wheel. He will explore how discrete choice experiments informed by the model domains will be used to engage stakeholders in selecting behaviour change preferences, in order to tailor competing de-implementation strategies in preparation for a randomised comparative effectiveness de-implementation trial.

Biography

Ted Skolarus is an associate professor in the Department of Urology, research scientist at the VA Ann Arbor HSR&D Center for Clinical Management Research, and surgery chief, VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. He has fellowship training in urologic oncology, health services research and implementation science. Dr Skolarus’ research interests aim to better understand and improve the delivery of prostate cancer survivorship care, including through addressing overuse of low-value services. This talk will explore an emerging conceptual framework for development of de-implementation strategies to address low-value chemical castration practices centred on the Theoretical Domains Framework and Behaviour Change Wheel.

The Centre for Implementation Science (CIS) is home to a team of expert implementation and improvement science researchers, including health economists and statisticians. The CIS aims to develop the discipline of implementation science and its researchers support the capacity building work of NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) South London.
