Embedding academic writing and reading support into regular teaching and assessment activities

In this teaching forum, Dr Ursula Wingate (KCL) will propose five methods for embedding academic literacy support into our subject teaching.

Using these methods would not involve a substantial increase in our workloads, but would entail some reorganisation of our lecturing, assessment and personal tutoring activities. 

She will provide examples of our use of the five methods on the BA English Language and Linguistics, the MA Applied Linguistics and TESOL, as well as in some intervention studies in other King’s departments.
