We live in the age of geoeconomics. The US, China, India and other powers are challenging the foundations of the decades-old Liberal International Order, which they believe doesn’t serve their goals anymore. As economic competition, trade and technology wars and growing economic nationalism take centre stage, Europe needs to adapt to maintain its pre-eminent position. Otherwise, it risks becoming one of the battlegrounds of this new age. A panel of King’s alumni will discuss how European countries, including the UK, and the EU should prepare to confront this new world.
Speakers
- Nadia Buhova, Head of EU Finances, European Policy, HM Treasury
- Josephine Daniel Hansen, Fomer Political Advisor to Member of the European Parliament & Former Head of Section, EU Coordination, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark
- Mark Sarfo, Senior Policy Officer, European Integration Directorate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands
- Adrian Vodislav, Investment Officer and Advisor, European Investment Bank
The panel will be moderated by Prof. Ramon Pacheco Pardo, Head of the Department of European & International Studies and Professor of International Relations, King's College London
