Who are these sessions for?
If you are not sure which level is most appropriate for you please look at our level descriptions and online placement tests in the first instance.

If you are still unsure, we are offering a range of assessments online with our experienced language teachers.

Spaces are limited, and are available to book online - please select your language and the available slots will appear on the booking calendar for you to book. Please cancel your booking if you are unable to attend. If there are no available slots for your chosen language, please email the Short Courses team at mlc@kcl.ac.uk who will try and arrange an assessment for you.

Please note all assessments will take place using Zoom, and you will be sent a link to the Zoom session shortly before the session. Assessments last a maximum of 15 minutes and the time slots will need to be strictly adhered to.

What do I need to prepare for an assessment?
Just bring yourself! The assessments are short, informal conversations where you will speak to one of the teachers teaching on your chosen programme so they can understand your previous language learning experience and speak with you in the target language to assess which of our evening or Saturday courses would be most suitable for you.

KCL module students
Please note these assessments are not for KCL students intending to study a language module as the syllabi for module classes and short courses are different. If you are a KCL student and your level needs to be assessed you first need to apply as a non-beginner and our Programmes Team will write to you to invite you to an assessment.
