Title: Extracting and summarizing medical evidence with large language models
Abstract: The growth of electronic health records, and the amount of data routinely captured by them each day, have opened new possibilities for medical care. In addition, there is a desire to leverage the data for secondary purposes, such as for quality improvement, and clinical research. In this talk, attendees will get a brief history of the field of “computable phenotyping” – developing software code to identify cohorts of patients from EHR data. Furthermore, attendees will learn the benefits of computable phenotyping, as well as pragmatic challenges and lessons learned.
