Photograph your heart

High blood pressure (hypertension): Heart or blood vessels, who’s to blame? Hypertension is one of the major risk factors of mortality worldwide. However, most often people have no symptoms, and not aware of such risk, which makes hypertension a “silent killer”.

Learn from about the mechanism of high blood pressure as you watch and take a picture of your heart contracting using heart ultrasound (echocardiography).

This activity will be hosted by Haotian Gu, School of Cardiovascular Medicine & Sciences.

Stitch & Stem Embroidery Workshop

The Centre for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine would like to invite all staff from the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine to take part in our stem cell embroidery workshop.

This workshop has been designed to engage you with stem cell research taking place at the CSCRM. Images generated by researchers have been translated into embroidery templates, which will be stitched by participants whilst meeting and talking with scientists from the Centre.
