Open to King’s/LC Students and Staff only

Join us for an enlightening workshop where we delve into the formal and aesthetic preoccupations of writings that politically contest Frenchness. In this workshop, we will:

  • Examine the revolutionary ideas of Aimé Césaire, Suzanne Césaire and Frantz Fanon.
  • Explore the concept of Négritude and its influence on contemporary literature.
  • Discuss key themes such as alienation, identity, colonialism, sexuality, language and the representation of women.
  • Introduce and analyse brief extracts from women writers in Francophone postcolonial literature.

This is a unique opportunity to engage with the profound thoughts of major writers and explore the diverse topics that shape Francophone postcolonial literature.

This workshop is delivered in French and English.
