How do you transform 70 shipping containers in Shepherd’s Bush into affordable labs for biotechnology start-ups and a vibrant community of researchers and innovators?

Just ask Helene Steiner, CEO of OpenCell.

Frustrated with how hard it was to get access to labs for early-stage start-ups, Helene and her co-founder Thomas, decided to make their own. Starting with just three shipping containers in White City, London, OpenCell has rapidly expanded to now 70 labs supporting everything from CRISPR to cured meats.

Join us to hear about Helene's journey solving the problem of a lack of affordable labs, founding OpenCell, nurturing a community of researchers and expanding access to science.

Helene Steiner is the CEO and Founder of OpenCell. She has a background in engineering and industrial design with a specialisation in translating science into the real world. She is interested in products at the intersection of hardware/software/biology.
