About the event

We are excited to welcome female students for a day of hands-on electronics, as part of this year's Girls into Electronics programme. This event will be hosted here at King's in our state-of-the-art engineering labs, in collaboration with UK Electronics Skills Foundation. Students will spend the day completing hands-on coding and electronics workshops, talking with engineers and networking with their peers.

This event is great opportunity for girls aged 13-15 to build skills in electronic engineering, and explore the wide range of careers possible in this area.

About the programme

Girls into Electronics is a series of one day events hosted by leading universities across the UK, led by UK Electronics Skills Foundation (UKESF). The event at King's is designed for female students aged 13-15 thinking about studying electronics, computer science or engineering. Participants will get the chance to hear from female staff and students at the university and Apple engineers, and also get an introduction to microcontrollers and electronics. Participants can keep the microcontroller kit to continue explorations at home.
