Good support for people with learning disabilities as they grow older

This MRC webinar, chaired by Dr Martin Stevens (HSCWRU), was presented by Christine Towers, Director of Together Matters (www.togethermatters.org.uk).

This webinar looked at how people with learning disabilities can be supported to have a good life as they grow older and will cover important aspects of life such as emotional well-being, health, being active and involved, home life and bereavement and dying. Christine has over 35 years’ experience of working with people with learning disabilities and their families. For this work Christine talked with people about their experience of growing older and their ideas about what support practitioners need to know and understand in order for them to enjoy older age, as well as keep safe and well. Christine shared some of the training resources that were developed from this work.
