How to put citizens into citizen science
Speaker: Dr Roger Highfield FMedSci
Roger Highfield is the Science Director at the Science Museum Group, a member of the UKRI-Medical Research Council, Visiting Professor at the Dunn School, University of Oxford, and at the Department of Chemistry, UCL, and a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
Over the decades, he has conducted various mass experiments, from Megalab and Live Lab – engaging millions of people through the BBC – to online cognitive tests on 44,600 people.
Roger was the Science Editor of The Daily Telegraph for two decades, and the Editor of New Scientist between 2008 and 2011. He has written or co-authored eight popular science books, including the critically acclaimed The Arrow of Time, The Physics of Christmas and The Dance of Life (with Magda Zernicka-Goetz).
He studied Chemistry at the University of Oxford and was the first person to bounce a neutron off a soap bubble.
