Geoffrey Brock is the author of three books of poems, the editor of The FSG Book of 20th-Century Italian Poetry, and the translator of numerous books, most recently Giovanni Pascoli's Last Dream, which received the Raiziss/de Palchi Book Prize in 2020, and Giuseppe Ungaretti's Allegria, which received the National Translation Award for poetry in 2021.

In this talk, Geoffrey will discuss his work as poet and literary translator and provide examples of how he approaches translating poetic texts, drawing from his experience with literary texts in Italian, French, and Spanish. Students of other languages are also invited. The talk will be conducted in English.

This event will be hosted on the Strand Campus of King's College London, Room S2.30, Strand Building. You can also join online in our Hyflex mode.
