Join us to hear from speakers from different sectors and legal professions to discuss pathways for developing a career in human rights law.

How do you become a human rights barrister? What does a typical day in a human rights NGO look like? Am I better suited to work on human rights issues as an academic or a legal practitioner? What scholarships and funding opportunities are available to develop a career in this area?

The Careers Day will feature panel discussions and break-out sessions with barristers, solicitors, campaigners, NGO lawyers, and academics. The day will also include a networking session to provide a chance to meet practitioners and speakers.

Speakers on the day will include:

  • Karen Monaghan QC, Barrister, Matrix Chambers
  • Corey Stoughton, Acting Director, Liberty
  • Kamran Mallick, CEO, Disability Rights UK
  • Martin Barnes, CEO, LawWorks
  • Joanna Whiteman, Co-Director, Equal Rights Trust
  • Shamik Dutta, Partner, Bhatt Murphy
  • Paul Dillane, Executive Director, Kaleidoscope Trust

This event is free however places are limited. To reserve your place, please purchase a general admission ticket and please select which break out sessions you would like to attend.

The event has been generously supported by The Dickson Poon School of Law, King's College London.
