Innovation Academy Workshop 1: From Research to Adoption

This introductory workshop, the first of our Innovation Academy series, introduces the benefits and challenges of translational research and explores the different routes available to translate academic innovation. We will also present the support network at King’s including the Translational Research Office and our activities within King's Innovation Catalyst.
This Workshop will cover:
• Translational Research vs Discovery Research
• Benefits of translational research
• Different ways to progress innovative research – stages and vehicles
• What is a Target Product Profile?
• Introduction to translational funding (to be followed up with more detail in workshop 2)
• Introduction to Intellectual Property (to be followed up with more detail in workshop 3)
• Signposting resources for innovation support
The workshop will be delivered by members of the Translational Research Office who have a wealth of experience supporting the King's research community. This event is aimed at King's academics, researchers, PhD students and professional services staff (school/research managers).
