Dance was often at the heart of Jane Austen's stories, and one of the most frequently performed dances of the time was the minuet. Come and hear the minuet music that would have been played at social gatherings during Jane Austen's time, and learn the basic steps for the minuet. This is based on Joseph Fort's recent research reconstructing the minuet choreography as it was performed during this period.

This event is part of the Faculty of Art's & Humanities Celebration of Jane Austen's 250th Anniversary. For other events in the series, see here.
