Margaret Butterworth Care Home Forum is a forum for discussion and learning focused on dementia care in communal settings such as nursing homes, care homes and extra care housing.
The first MBCHF of 2023 will consider the relationship between care homes and hospitals.
We will hear from two speakers:
Dr Fawn Hyde-Harrad works at the University of Leicester in collaboration with LOROS hospice and will discuss her work on transfers from care homes and the ways staff recognised and responded to potential deterioration and what staff had to weigh up when deciding how best to proceed. Follow Fawn on Twitter.
Dr Carl Marincowitz from the University of Sheffield will discuss his work on what influences decisions to transfer older care home residents to the emergency department. Follow Carl on Twitter.
