Our Virtual Medical Careers Fair is an opportunity for King's medical students to receive expert advice from experienced clinicians.

The event offers students an annual opportunity to meet experienced clinicians, asking informally about patient contact, work-life balance or the length of training and amount of competition; or about any other aspect of their specialty.

With the NHS under pressure because of coronavirus many medical students will be using their skills to volunteer in hospitals because of the crisis. The fair hopes to provide them with an opportunity to reflect on those experiences and ask a range of professionals, any questions about their future career.

  • What gives your clinicians the greatest job satisfaction?
  • What do they struggle with the most?
  • What really makes a difference to getting ‘in’?
  • If they had their time again, what advice would they give to themselves as a medical student?

The Fair is open to students from any year, whether Graduate Entry Programme student in initial year, or a final year; and whether at the beginning of exploring the specialities, or further down the path to a decision and just looking for more guidance.

It is hoped that the materials and advice given by representatives on the stands will help students to make informed decisions about their career path and perhaps some reassurance, given the current situation. We will provide exhibitors with clear instructions regarding online delivery and support.
