The 7th annual King's College London Mission Discovery programme is here. This programme is a unique and exciting experience for the next generation of young scientists. 

The educational programme is run by the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine in partnership with the International Space School Educational Trust, and involves astronauts, world renowned scientists and NASA leaders. 

Students will spend over five days at King's between 9 - 13 July. They will hear from the Mission Discovery team with the aim to design a bio-medical experiment to be launched into space and performed aboard the International Space Station (ISS).  Winning teams experiments will be built in Houston and carried aboard the ISS by NASA astronauts. 

The Mission Discovery programme includes the following themes:

  • NASA leadership and team building

  • The environment of being in space
  • What makes a great experiment
  • Space experiments, developments and spin-offs
  • Research, guided by experts
  • Budgeting
  • Presentation skills
  • Cutting edge technology
  • Inculcating the NASA ‘you can do it’ spirit.
