King's College London Mission Discovery programme is here. This programme is a unique and exciting experience for the next generation of young scientists. 

The educational programme is run by the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine in partnership with the International Space School Educational Trust (ISSET) and involves astronauts, scientists and NASA personnel. 

Students will spend over five days at King's between 6 - 10 July. With guidance, participants will design a bio-medical experiment to be launched into space and performed aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Students will finish the week by presenting their idea to ISSET’s judging panel and one experiment will be selected and launched to the ISS on a SpaceX Rocket.

The Mission Discovery programme includes the following themes:

  • NASA leadership and team building
  • How space exploration benefits life on Earth
  • Experiencing the environment of space
  • Looking at different kinds of experiment and what makes them great
  • How you succeed in your dreams and ambitions
