The Middle East Scientific Institute for Security (MESIS) in Jordan and the UK’s Nuclear Security Culture Consortium, sponsored by the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), is holding a three-day workshop on Insider Threats and Security Culture in Amman, Jordan.
The workshop is intended to introduce participants to nuclear threats posed by non-state actors and now an effective nuclear security culture can mitigate them. The workshop draws upon experts from industry, government and academia; with a combination of lectures, round-table discussions and table-top exercises.

Application Process

The workshop is targeted at participants working in either an operational or regulatory capacity with nuclear and radioactive materials in the Middle East. It may also be of interest to Arab government officials and security experts working on nuclear issues to exchange insights and best practices. The workshop will be conducted in both English and Arabic. Ideally, participants will have at least five years of professional experience and a basic knowledge of nuclear security.

To apply, complete the online application available here by 31 January 2020. Please direct any questions to Hannah Mulvey (hannah.mulvey@kcl.ac.uk). The workshop is offered free of charge, with full funding to support travel, accommodation and visa costs.
