Are you a mental health professional with at least two years clinical experience looking to expand your horizons? Why not consider training as a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) therapist?
The course provides practical, intensive and detailed training to equip students with the skills to become independent CBT practitioners in accordance with BABCP guidelines.

These courses at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) and Royal Holloway, Central & North West London NHS Trust (CNWL) are currently part of the Department of Health’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies initiative. A one-year training contract enables therapists to work in IAPT services whilst being trained in evidence-based CBT for adults with depression and anxiety disorders. CBT training and supervision is provided by CBT experts on the course.
The overall aim of the course is to provide practical, intensive and detailed training to facilitate skills development and competence in CBT. It aims to equip students to become skilled and creative independent CBT practitioners in accordance with British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) guidelines. Students will also develop critical knowledge of the theoretical and research literature relating to CBT. Both courses are fully BABCP-accredited and lead to CBT therapist accreditation on completion.
