Celebrate International Day of the Midwife 2019 with a day of speakers, performances and discussions, hosted by the Department of Midwifery in the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Professor Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent OBE, Chief Midwifery Officer, Head of Maternity NHS England, King's alumni and visiting Professor
- Mars Lord, birth activist, doula
- Dr Laura Abbott, specialist midwife and senior lecturer, advocate for pregnant women in prison
- Hannah Rayment-Jones, NIHR Doctoral Research Fellow, advocate for maternity care for women with social risk factors
There will be poetry, music and dance performances from students, stalls from publishers and journals, the King's College London Nursing & Midwifery Society and more.
The event is open to anyone with an interest in midwifery, and it is free to attend.
