Performance and the Futures of Translation brings together scholars and artists across the theatre, literary and performance worlds to think together about what futures acts of translation hold in a world in disarray.

In honour of the 2023 publication of Performance and Translation in a Global Age, edited by Avishek Ganguly (Rhode Island School of Design/USA) and Kélina Gotman (King's College London/UK), the event will offer an opportunity to take stock of recent experiments in radical translations, worldmaking, postcolonial and disability justice in theatre translation, and poetics of performative resistance.

Join us for a panel discussion and convivial nibbles and drinks.

Speakers

  • Catherine Boyle, KCL
  • Sanja Perovic, KCL
  • Anandi Rao, SOAS
  • and Khairani Barokka, independent artist
  • chaired by Avishek Ganguly and Kélina Gotman
