For our first colloquium of the season, we’re delighted to be joined by Professor Sir George Benjamin (King’s College London), who will talk about his recent opera, which premiers on 22 September at the Lindbury Theatre. He will talk about his latest collaboration with librettist Martin Crimp and everyone is welcome to join us for a performance of the opera that will take place that evening. The opera will be performed on various evenings between Friday 22 September and Tuesday 10 October.

An ordinary day. A terrible event. The death of her infant child sets in motion one woman’s search for a life-restoring miracle. All she needs to do – in the course of a single day – is find one genuinely happy human being. But when every encounter ends in disappointment, she turns finally to the mysterious owner of a magnificent garden…
