Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil, Op.37

Tickets: £5 to £20 - book ticket/s via St John's Smith Square direct: https://tinyurl.com/3zy4frhn

The Choir of King’s College London makes a welcome return to St John’s Smith Square, performing Sergei Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil.

More typically known as the ‘Vespers’, Rachmaninoff’s composition draws on the sounds of Orthodox worship—particularly the singing of chant and the ringing of bells.  Since its premiere in 1915, Rachmaninoff’s music has established itself as a work dear to choirs and audiences alike.

With recent recordings under Joseph Fort recognised as 'a performance of astonishing intensity and musicality' (Gramophone) and ‘English choral singing at its best’ (Choir and Organ Magazine), the Choir of King’s College London is widely acclaimed as one of the leading collegiate choirs in the country.

This early-evening concert allows plenty of time to enjoy a meal after the performance!
