Following on from our April event ‘in conversation’ with Air Vice-Marshals Smyth and Godfrey, the Freeman Air and Space Institute is delighted to be hosting Air Marshal Andrew Turner to discuss the Integrated Review – ‘Global Britain in a Competitive Age: the Integrated Review of Security, Defence, Development and Foreign Policy’.

Air Marshal Turner is Deputy Commander Capability for the RAF, responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of all aspects of the service’s capability – from people to training and from infrastructure to equipment. He is also the RAF’s Diversity and Inclusion Champion.

In conversation with King’s College London and Department for War Studies Visiting Professor Lady Moira Andrews, he will offer his reflections on the Integrated Review. With two months passed since it was published, this event provides an opportunity to interrogate the outcomes and consider its implications for the RAF.

What will the Indo-Pacific tilt mean for air and space power? Are there gaps in capability that worry the Air Force Board as certain platforms are retired? With the power to call early elections returning to the Prime Minister, how does the RAF prepare for the next defence review?

Join us on 24 May for the opportunity to hear Air Marshal Turner’s reflections and pose questions to him on the 2021 Integrated Review and what effects it will have on the future development of air and space power.

Register via Eventbrite, you will receive details of the Zoom link and login via an automated email and reminder emails. Please note this event will be recorded.
