Rehabilitation and palliative care - companions, competitors, or collaborators?

By Professor Derick Wade, Consultant in Neurological Rehabilitation

Abstract
Rehabilitation can sometimes be challenged by its name, which carries many meanings unrelated to healthcare rehabilitation. It is often viewed as implying a ‘return to normal’.Palliative care may be similarly challenged, for the entirely opposite reasons of its association with death and dying. This talk will consider both within the context of a holistic approach to patient care.

The Speaker
Professor Derick Wade is a Consultant in Neurological Rehabilitation and has been a Visiting Professor at Oxford Brookes University since 2007 . He has always been interested in understanding what rehabilitation is; and he is still trying to find an answer!

This event is FREE TO ATTEND - no need to register!

CPD (1 credit) pending Royal College of Physicians
