This workshop will be an exploration of ‘savouring the moment’, one of the five pillars of wellbeing. Through writing, sharing and discussion, participants will learn about the joy of creating poetry, and of cultivating a creative practice more generally. We will discuss what it might mean to ‘savour’ our time, zooming in on everyday rituals, the concept of ‘mindfulness’ and how writing can be a practical tool for self-discovery. We may also look outwards at other creative practices, and think about how to carve out space to feel freedom and comfort while exploring these.

Creativity for wellbeing fact:
Creative writing can help you process emotions and reflect, this can reduce stress by decluttering the mind and increasing focus.

Make Do Play is produced by the university's Culture Team for the King's Cultural Community. This session is delivered by Kit Finnie, KCL Alumni and a 2018/19 Roundhouse Resident Artist and hosted by Project X supported by KCLSU Wellbeing.
