Scoring Mental Health at IoPPN is the inaugural live performance of powerful and evocative music, co-created by people with experience of mental ill health and composer Gawain Hewitt.

You are invited to join us at the Wolfson Lecture Theatre at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience to hear Gawain and musicians from the City of London Sinfonia play excerpts from the new compositions, followed by a discussion of the Scoring Mental Health Project with some of the people involved.

We’ll be sharing how this approach is an innovation in research and exploring how it enables an understanding of lived experiences of mental ill health by using music where words are often not enough.

If you are interested in mental health and how music can help express our inner states, come along to this public event, hear some great music and contribute to the discussion.

The process of composing the music was captured in a recent BBC Radio 3 programme Scoring Mental Health.
