The programme brings together researchers and clinicians involved in gastrointestinal cancer research at King’s Health Partners. It is a multidisciplinary network of clinicians, scientists and allied health professionals, representing surgery, oncology, gastroenterology, pathology, epidemiology, cancer care, and genetic and molecular research.
The programme originates from activities addressing upper gastrointestinal cancer, particularly oesophageal adenocarcinoma, at St Thomas’ Hospital. This hospital includes a tertiary referral centre for upper gastrointestinal cancer to which the clinical services within King’s Health Partners are centralised. It is one of the busiest upper gastrointestinal cancer services in Europe.
