Sex chromosomes and sex differences in stem cells and derivatives

Speaker: Christine M. Disteche, PhD, University of Washington, Seattle WA, USA

Christine Disteche is a Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, and Adjunct Professor of Medicine (Medical Genetics) at the University of Washington in Seattle. Her research centers on mechanisms of sex chromosome regulation in relation to development and cell functions using single-cell approaches and chromatin conformation analyses to characterize specific cell types and their developmental trajectories. Her group works on defining epigenetic mechanisms of sex-linked gene regulation using mouse and human resources, including pluripotent stem cells developed to study sex differences and the role of sex chromosomes in health and disease.
