Swiss German has been called the perfect language, for spies, inaccessible to anyone from outside. But what exactly is Swiss German?

We will be looking at some definitions regarding language vs. dialect and focus on the unique status and usage of dialects in Switzerland. You will hear plenty of examples of what it sounds like and even some Swiss German rap!

Suitable for: Anyone with an interest in Switzerland and/or German as well as a bit of language history and development. You can get a lot out of the workshop even without any knowledge of German.
