This virtual careers talk by The Alan Turing Institute, delivered by The Brilliant Club, will introduce attendees to the range of Data Science and AI roles in government and research, including in Defence and Security. Students will hear about what a data scientist does, the skills required and the range of roles available. The talk will outline routes into these professions and provide a chance to hear from a current researcher in AI. Attendees will find out about why diversity is so important in this field and also have the opportunity to ask questions and identify useful resources for planning their future.

This talk is suitable for undergraduate students studying STEM subjects, with a particular relevance for Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computing, Engineering and Physics students.
