Michal is a trained physicist and engineer, economist, specialist in international negotiations, expert in the field of energy and the author of the government programme for the development of electromobility in Poland.
At COP24 in Poland the world adopted the Katowice Rulebook – the last necessary element to operationalise the Paris Agreement and to unlock a truly global climate action. Yet from many quarters one hears alarming voices that the world continues on its path towards catastrophic climate change. The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced that his priority now would be ambition. How can this ambition be unlocked in the light of the outcome and the political and social circumstances surrounding COP24? If the framework alone is not enough, what other elements are needed to spur the world into action?
