The Data and Connectivity National Core Study

Lara will discuss the work done by the National Core Study Data and Connectivity programme which aims to address the current fragmentation of the UK data infrastructure by working in partnership with stakeholders from across the four nations to organise medical, biological and social science data on an unprecedented scale and complexity. The programme is led by Health Data Research UK (HDRUK), in partnership with the Office for National Statistics (ONS), and has enabled streamlined, secure access to data for vital COVID-19 research across the UK Trusted Research Environment (TRE) network. Lara will outline which data assets are now available, how researchers can access the data, how researchers can make more widely available their data assets, and how the programme has worked to inform the UK COVID-19 policy response.
