Professor Robert Mitchell (Guildhall School of Music & Drama) has released 13 albums of his own projects, participated in over 100 projects as a sideman, has performed/toured in 40 countries. He was conferred the title of professor in June 2022 (from the Guildhall School of Music/Drama - Jazz Dept). He has been a Steinway Artist since 2009. He leads the groups - Epiphany 3 and TRUE THINK alongside duets with Shirley Smart, Ashley Henry, and dancer Masumi Endo.

He has performed with Norma Winstone, Joshua Redman, Steve Coleman, Soweto Kinch, Ty, Courtney Pine, Julian Lourau, Matana Roberts, Django Bates, Omar Puente, Kaidi Tatham, Steve Williamson and Greg Osby amongst a myriad of others. His compositions have been performed by the Bournemouth Symphony Chorus, London Sinfonietta and the brilliant pianists Yuki Negishi and Cliodna Shanahan amongst others. He has released two poetry collections. The most recent being City Of Sanctuary (Common Tone Press - Seattle 2023). Robert is a Mentor/Task Force Member at Black Lives In Music, teacher at Youth Music Makers, and ambassador for Featured Artist Coalition and Piano Restorations. He is EDI Lead at MusicHe Committee.

His improv trio The Flame release the second of their debut 'Towards The Flame' on 577 Records (NYC) later in 2024.
