In 1999, Anna Bågenholm was skiing with Torvind Næsheim when an accident left her trapped under a layer of ice for 80 minutes in freezing water. Anna suffered circulatory arrest after 40 minutes in the water. Her deep body temperature decreased to a record low of 13.7 degrees celcius. She was "dead" for 3 hours.

This talk will be the Halliburton Lecture in Physiology 2020.
