Abstract: Dr. Paolo Fusar Poli will discuss how to improve detection of emerging psychosis by means of precision medicine algorithms. In particular the focus will be on detection approaches spanning different psychopathological dimensions (thus “transdiagnostic”) that are also automatable and scalable in Electronic Health Records. He will address implementation barriers and potential ways for overcoming them.

Speaker: Dr. Paolo Fusar Poli is Reader of Youth Mental Health at the Department of Psychosis Studies, King’s College London and Honorary Consultant at the OASIS service, SLaM NHS Foundation Trust. His clinical and research interests encompass youth mental health and prevention of emerging mental disorders in young people. He is author of >370 publications in PubMed journals, with an h-index of 88. He has been a highly cited researcher (Clarivate Analytics), demonstrated by the production of multiple scientific articles that rank in the top 1% by citations for their field and year of publication, from 2015 to 2020. He has been an invited speaker and/or chairman in numerous national and international scientific conferences. He is member of the editorial board and reviewer of several scientific journals. He is also principal investigator or co-investigator of several national and international grants focused on the prevention of mental disorders in young people. Paolo Fusar-Poli is leading the implementation group within the NIHR Maudsley BRC Prediction Modelling Group. He also chairs the NIHR TRC MH Early Psychosis Work-stream and the ECNP Network for the Prevention of Mental Disorders and Mental Health Promotion (PMD-MHP)
